When it comes to wedding cakes, one of the names you will encounter would be Joy San Gabriel. Amidst the issues I am going through, I made an appointment with Ms. Joy. I absolutely love her cakes and I wanted Ryan to get a taste of what she offers too (with a wishful thought that he would like her cakes so much that he would agree to order some from her to serve during the coffee break).
April 29. I left early from work to meet with Ms. Joy at their condo unit in Serendra. I was with my friend Mel, whom we call "Father". Originally kasi, Ryan does not want to come kaya I asked Father to accompany me instead, but then Ryan change his mind and agreed to come. We'll just meet with Ryan at the Bonifacio High Street and proceed to Ms. Joy's place.
We rang the doorbell of Ms Joy’s place and she pleasantly greeted us and let us in (nakakahiya kasi nasira ung shoes ko and naulanan kame sa labas kaya mukha yata akong ewan when we met with her). She’s really nice and accommodating. When she let us taste the cakes she prepared, I loved her cakes even more. I love the Carrot Cake, Amaretto Flourless and the Strawberry Cheesecake. Yum! Yum! Ryan’s favorites are Strawberry Cheesecake and Brazo Cashew. Father, on the other hand, loves the Revel Bar, Moist Chocolate and the Amaretto Flourless. On a funny note, Ms Joy questioned Father if he’s really a priest. Her question was like “teka po, pari po ba talaga kayo?” That really made me laugh and then I just explained to her that our barkada are just used calling him “Father” because during our college days, every time we have a presentation he would either play the role of a priest or a head of the family. =)
Ms Joy’s cakes really are delectable and she’s really honest and values her customers. That’s a plus point for a supplier. I really wish we could get her cakes. Hayy…

the storm...
At the start of the week last week, April 19, rain clouds started forming. I thought it was just a normal rain that will soon be over. But I was wrong. The rain clouds got bigger as if someone has been seeding it. Mid of last week, rain started falling. The rain did not stop. It only grew stronger and became a storm. Dark clouds covered the horizon; lightning striked everywhere; deafening thunders roared; strong winds brought things down; and waters rose.
I am sinking.
I am sinking in to the waters. And the “gods” are just watching. They started the storm and this is exactly what they want—for me to sink and drown.
Voices of little people whispered to me to fight. Fight the “gods” they said. My first inkling is really to stop and just let myself drown, and let the “gods” win. I don’t stand a chance with “gods”. But the little people told me I have a chance and that I should fight. They would help me. They would stand up with me.
I’m still troubled even with the support of the little people. The “gods” already told me that I have no other option but to just let myself drown. I feared for myself as strong winds tossed me around. As the clouds became darker and more rained poured, the more threatened and afraid I felt with the “gods”.
I felt numb and not sure what to do. I am at the brink of losing it, but the little people gave me a little spark of hope—a branch. I am clinging on to that branch with my very life and decided to fight the “gods”.
One…two…three days have passed. I am still holding on to that branch and have tightened my grip on it.
I am currently in the eye of the storm. The wind has stopped for a while and so did the rain. In a couple of days the tail of the storm will come, all of the wrath of the “gods” will come down on me. Help!
Father Almighty in heaven, I humbly come unto you to seek for help. Please be with me as I battle through this “storm”. Give me the wisdom, strength and courage that I would need in facing them. Hear me Lord, hear my prayers. May I receive a fair chance in this trial.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." --Deuteronomy 31:6

Addicted to W@W III
(Coffeedate anyone?)
Amidst the "storm" I am going through right now, I am able to meet with my fellow w@wies last Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Starbucks SM Megamall. Here I met, Fei (ni Stan) --one of the first few na naka-chat ko because of w@w , super daldal and bubbly person; Kristell (ni Mark)--wish ko lang kasing slim ng katawan nya ung katawan ko (asa naman ako = P ); Beej (ni Benj)--akala ko seryoso nung una pero may kadaldalan din..nashock yata sa ken kasi nagvent out agad ako; Jihan (ni Gelo)--not one of us suspected na corporate lawyer pala sya...promise; and Diana (sorry i'm not sure of the name of your h2b...dami din kasi diana sa group)--nakakatuwa kasi pati h2b nya dami din side comments...bumabangka din.
Our topic? Of course all about WEDDINGS. Preparations, suppliers, stories, etc... I also get to share to everyone my current dilemma. At least I get to vent out my frustations and my issues and how unfairly treated I felt was.
Thanks guys for taking my mind off of things even for a few hours. Anyway below are some of our pictures in Starbucks.

Welcome to the world Baby Ichi!!!
We waited for so long for her arrival and finally last night, at ten past midnight, my sister-in-law gave birth to a 5.12 lbs baby girl. She is the princess of the family--the unica hija. My first niece. The first granddaughter of my parents. And the first born of my brother.
Just imagine how excited we were when we heard her first cry outside of the delivery room and how thrilled we were when the nurse brought her out and showed her to us for a brief moment before bringing her up to the nursery room. My niece is so pretty and so adorable. I can't wait for her to grow up so I can dress her up with all those cute little dresses. It's as though I found myself a real-life barbie doll =)

And the World Dances...
(A non-wedding related topic but worth posting)
I've been busy with a lot of things lately especially with work and wedding preparation. This video reminds me that I need to take a break and take a breather. I've actually watched this video a couple of years already but I stumbled upon it again. Whenever I see this video, it just gives me a sense of pure happiness. Watch the video below and you'll know why.
